Bio

I graduated from the French École Polytechnique in 1995 and I hold a Masters in AI from the University of Paris VI.  I received the PhD in computer science and natural language processing from LIMSI-CNRS, University of Paris XI in 1999.  I have been a postdoc at UCSD and a senior research assistant at ISSCO, University of Geneva.  From 2007 to 2017, I was a senior researcher at the Idiap Research Institute, head of Idiap’s NLP group, and a lecturer at EPFL. I became a professor at HEIG-VD / HES-SO in 2017, teaching a variety of courses in computer science and natural language processing, along with continuing R&D in NLP.  In 2021, I was nominated as adjunct faculty (senior scientist) in the Electrical Engineering Doctoral School at EPFL.
