I am curious to learn from and communicate with the professionals from diverse fields. My key areas of interest include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sustainable Energy<\/li>\n<li>Media, Arts and Cultural Heritage<\/li>\n<li>Social Impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li><strong>SIG Digital Twin<\/strong> (Contract for Geneva Industrial Service of Geneva)<br \/>\nDeployment of a digital twin demonstrator on the SIG site allowing integration of SIG&#8217;s electrical distribution network topology and measurements data, through a data validation and aggregation process. Implementation of a visualization and simulation platform fed by the digital twin.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TwinDiGrid<\/strong> (Innosuisse, 2022-2023): A Grid Insight Platform composed of a data-driven and real-time digital twin of distribution grids linked to an easy-to-develop-and demonstrate environment. It allows to efficiently generate insights and business values from grid federated and trusted data.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RST-Control<\/strong> (Hasler Foundation grant, 2021-2022) : Real-time stream processing applied to efficient control of distributed renewable energy sources in smart grids.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grid Data Digger<\/strong> (Innosuisse, 2019-2021): An automated Distribution Grid<br \/>\nOperation Assistance Tool using Data-Driven solutions on a big-data Platform. Implementation of the complete grid ingestion platform and the grid data analysis modules using Apache Spark and Spark Streaming.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dermintel <\/strong>&#8211; An AI powered Digital Care Compagnion (2016-2018). Technical supervision leading to the co-funding of the start-up by my Master student.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DermaQA<\/strong> &#8211; Automatic Gerneration of a Dermatology Question Dataset (2018): Automatic detection of similar dermatology-related questions from community-based question-answering forums using IR and deep-learning.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/43\/crowdstreams-analyse-et-surveillance-en-temps-reel-de-mobilite-a-la-proximite-des-grands-evenements\"><strong>CrowdStreams<\/strong><\/a> (HES-SO grant, 2015-2017): Real-time analysis and monitoring of mobility in the proximity of big events using Apache Spark and ML-LIB machine-learning library.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/45\/livre-artist-extraction-et-normalisation-des-metadonnees-relatives-au-livre-dartiste\"><strong>Livre Artist<\/strong><\/a> (Contract, Biblioth\u00e8que National Suisse, 2014-2015): Extraction and analysis of annotations from the complete bibliographic collection possessed by Biblioth\u00e8que National Suisse (BNS) in order to characterize artistic works. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/44\/real-time-data-loss-prevention\"><strong>RT-DLP <\/strong><\/a>(Contract, Crossing-Tech SA, 2014-2015): Real-Time Content-based Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Technology Feasibility Study. Comparison of Spark, Storm, Hadoop and Hbase for the implementation of a scalable DLP tool.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/40\/efficient-and-scalable-near-duplicate-detection-for-content-based-data-leakage-detection\"><strong>SR-DLP<\/strong><\/a> (Hasler Foundation grant, 2013-2014): Efficient and Scalable Near Duplicate Detection for Content-based Data Leakage Detection, comparison of four MapReduce algorithms.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/46\/ef-ndd-efficient-near-duplicate-detector\"><strong>Ef-NDD<\/strong><\/a> (RCSO grant, 2012-2013): Efficient Near Duplicate Detection. Improving the efficiency of Near Duplicate Detection algorithms for security audit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ClusterSITG<\/strong> (Contract, l\u2019\u00e9tat de G\u00e9n\u00e8ve, 2012-2013): Automatic clustering and semantic linking of the geographical metadata of the terms used by \u201cService des Syst\u00e8mes d\u2019Information et de G\u00e9omatique (SSIG) de l\u2019\u00e9tat de Gen\u00e8ve\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/42\/thesauro-reorganisation-automatique-de-thesaurus\"><strong>Thesauro<\/strong><\/a> (RCSO grant, 2011-2012): Thesaurus Automatic Reorganization. Association rules mining on the RTS (Radio T\u00e9l\u00e9vision Swiss Romande) archive to restructure their thesaurus. The result prototype is currently used at the RTS.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Health Social Media Monitoring<\/strong> (prototype for SwissRe Life &amp; Health R&amp;D, 2011-2012) : A tweet classification prototype to analyse patients, diseases and medications.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/26\/notrehistoire-mobile\"><strong>NotreHistoireMobile <\/strong><\/a>(Contract, RTS, 2011-2012): Mobile applications on iOS and Android developed following the Mobiwalk platform for the RTS <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notrehistoire.ch\">notrehistoire.ch<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>NDD<\/strong> (Contract, Price WaterhouseCoopers, 2010-2011): Design and implementation of Near Duplicate Detection algorithms with high precision. The result was an audit tool tested and exclusively used for one year by PWC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/41\/mobiwalk-a-mobile-plateforme-for-on-the-walk-users\"><strong>Mobilwalk<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(RCSO grant, 2009-2011): A generic platform to provide multimedia- based services to the users on the move. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/iict.heig-vd.ch\/projets#\/48\/walking-the-edit-modelisation-des-donnees-et-selection-des-medias\"><strong>Walking-the-edit <\/strong><\/a>(Contract, ECAL, 2008-2009).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the past, I have been working on audiovisual retrieval for cultural heritage applications<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li><span class=\"s1\">Video annotation enrichment<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">User oriented video querying and browsing<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Audiovisual description standards, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">MPEG-7 querying<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a background in Information Retrieval and Distributed Database Systems, during the last years I have developped a strong intrest in reserach projects involving data mining algorithms, big data storage and analysis and machine learning.
