{"id":2,"date":"2014-08-13T13:30:43","date_gmt":"2014-08-13T13:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iict-space.heig-vd.ch\/fhb\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2015-07-10T06:59:41","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T06:59:41","slug":"profile","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/iict-space.heig-vd.ch\/fhb\/","title":{"rendered":"Profile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/\">Swiss Federal Institute of Technology &#8211; Lausanne (EPFL)<\/a> under the supervision of <a href=\"http:\/\/people.epfl.ch\/andre.schiper\">Prof. Andr\u00e9 Schiper <\/a>in February 2011. My <a href=\"http:\/\/library.epfl.ch\/en\/theses\/?nr=4839\">Ph.D. thesis<\/a> mainly focuses on designing and implementing modular distributed consensus algorithms and evaluating their performance based on quantitative analysis.<\/p>\n<p>I was working at the <a href=\"http:\/\/lsrwww.epfl.ch\/\">Distributed Systems Laboratory (LSR)<\/a> at EPFL as a research and teaching assistant from April 2006 until February 2011, and then as a post-doctoral researcher until January 2012.<\/p>\n<p>From January 2012, I have joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iict.ch\/\">Institute for Information and Communication Technologies (IICT)<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heig-vd.ch\/\">University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HEIG-VD)<\/a> as a scientific collaborator and I follow my research direction in applied fields.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iict-space.heig-vd.ch\/fhb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2014\/08\/Borran_CV.pdf\">Resume<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology &#8211; Lausanne (EPFL) under the supervision of Prof. Andr\u00e9 Schiper in February 2011.
